Driving is easiest: about 80–90 minutes from central Tokyo via the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, about 50–60 minutes from Haneda Airport, and about 1 hour 20 minutes from Narita. Airport car pickup can also be arranged. By train, take the JR Uchibo Line (Sazanami limited express) to Kazusa-Minato Station, about 90 minutes, and we'll pick you up by car (¥2,000 per group each way; same-day requests cost extra — please tell us your train time on LINE first).

No Japanese needed. Washinmura is run by a Taiwanese family, and your trip can be hosted in Mandarin Chinese or English — your house manager is reachable on LINE at any time, before and during the trip. Just tell us your preferred language on LINE when you book.

Absolutely! Washinmura is great for families — the old farmhouse has a little hideout-style tent kids love, and there's forest to run around in, cats to play with and stars to watch, plus a family plan with kids' perks. Children's rates follow the trip-fee rules: tell us your kids' ages on LINE and we'll work them into the total.

The cats live freely around the village and may well invite themselves into your room — for most guests, that's the moment they came for. If you're allergic or would rather not be visited, tell your house manager and we'll keep your room cat-free.

Your house manager sends a detailed packing list before the trip. Basically just bring toiletries and shoes for the outdoors. Yukata, towels, coffee, BBQ gear and WiFi are all provided.

The farmhouse and the Jyubako cabins are air-conditioned, so indoor time is comfortable. June has a rainy-day firefly-viewing plan and July a rainy-season special. Your house manager adjusts the itinerary around the weather.

There's a solo-traveler plan, reserved for women. The cats will keep you quiet company.

The nearest convenience store is about a 10-minute drive. We recommend shopping in Tokyo beforehand, or ask your house manager to buy things for you.

Signal can be weak in the hills, but every room has WiFi — video calls are no problem.

Guest pets aren't allowed (since September 2025). The village is already home to 18 cats and 2 dogs, and we need to keep the peace.

Tell your house manager in advance and we'll arrange vegetarian meals. Please also let us know about food allergies ahead of time so the menu can be adjusted.

Dinner is always at Washinmura — the village is the heart of this trip. If you're staying at Washinmura itself, breakfast and dinner are both in the village. If you're staying at a partner glamping site, you'll have dinner at Washinmura, be driven back to your accommodation, and have breakfast there the next morning. Lunch is at local hidden-gem restaurants your house manager takes you to, at your own expense.

A 30% deposit confirms your booking (the deposit is non-refundable). Cancellation fees: 30 days or more before check-in, 30% of the trip fee; 29–15 days, 50%; 14–8 days, 80%; within 7 days or no-show without notice, 100%. Rescheduling: free once if requested 30 or more days before check-in (valid for one year); after that, rescheduling counts as cancellation plus rebooking. For force majeure such as typhoons or cancelled flights, rescheduling can be discussed with documentation.
